SegaFootball Manager
The original and most successful Football Management game in the world. Pick a club from any of the 51 playable nations and take on the challenge of leading them to domestic and continental success.

For the past year I worked at Sports Interactive on the user interface team. This required a solid knowledge of graphic design to ensure the interface felt right. Football Manager is an ever-evolving product with frequent updates reacting to user feedback.
A core part of my role involves the developing of new features or UI changes to improve the overall experience. Once these are approved by the wider team, I worked with UI producers to incorporate them into a feature-request roadmap, so they could be implemented.

The compare player stats screen, a very important section of the game. Users can determine what players to buy or sell. Below is an example screenshot of the match engine.

Over the year I have moved around 3 separate teams. Football manager has 3 core platforms: Mac/PC, mobile/ tablet and a new online platform. I have worked within the PC and mobile sections of the product. A large responsibility was to report bugs and generate what we call ‘feature requests’.
Sports interactive has a system in which anybody within the company can request a design change to the game. The 3D game engine is treated as a separate entity to the general user interface. Using the Sports Interactive forums to record usability issues proved valuable during this time. Doing that really helped give a broad understanding of the user.
